A b o u t
Steven Archer is a Peruvian-American writer, visual artist, and professional editor from Hollywood, Florida. He holds an MFA from the University of Central Florida, where he was the Provost Fellow in fiction, and serves as an assistant fiction editor with The Florida Review literary journal. He is an alum of the TIn House Autumn workshop. His work received honorable mention from the 2023 AWP Intro Journals Award, and is forthcoming in AGNI.

W o r k
Steven's writing explores queerness, faith, and Latin/ Caribbean identity through both nonfiction and magical realism. His stories and essays center LGBTQ+ individuals of color in situations both familiar and fantastical. He is fascinated by the ways sexuality, modern masculinity, immigration, religion, colonization, and geography can render one othered from one's own roots.
